Follow a Sketch February // Day 6

Yay! Day 6! Coincidentally, that is also the title of this layout. Not day 6. Sheesh, people. YAY!

Today, I am using the January 15, 2018 sketch from Stuck?! Sketches

Stuck?!
SO many reasons to say YAY to this layout. The word phrase was perfect for a group of coworkers going out to eat in regular clothes. Yay for using up the last bits of my Citrus Twist Kit from January. Yay for using a bunch of pieces I was less than thrilled with in my layers. Yay for using another pom pom frame. Yay for cutting off a tail of that poor bird and using it as a layer. Just, yay!

The completed layout has a lot of pink, but I am totally okay with that. I think that pop of bright yellow makes it work for me.

Follow a Sketch February // Day 5

Can you believe it? Five days into the month already? I am having a fantastic time searching for some awesome sketches to use all this month! I hope you join me! If you do, add the hashtag #FASFEB2018 to your social media so I can check them out!

On to the layout!

I wrapped up my scrapbooking of 2016, so what better thing to work on today than a title page for my 2017 album. Let's be honest here. I am probably going to have to create more than one title page. I rarely have one album for an entire year.

Sketches In Thyme
I am using a sketch from Sketches in Thyme today. It is from November 2017. Now this is one of those times where I take the sketch and kind of go my own way with it.

Just look at that shine! I love playing with things that sparkle! Glitter, how I adore thee!

And the completed page! As you can see, not a whole lot like the sketch. Can you see where I took the inspiration? The circle bits, the layers, and the splatters? Love this photo of my family!

Supplies used to create this layout:
  • Cardstock, Glitter - DCWV
  • Cardstock, Kraft - Michaels
  • Life Goals Paper, Good Vibes - Crate Paper
  • Go Girl Paper, Girl Squad - Pebbles
  • Stickers, Sweet Spring - Bella Blvd.
  • Paper - Gossamer Blue
  • Puffy Stickers, Sweet Nothings - Fancy Pants
  • Glitter Paste, Black - Bo Bunny
  • Color Shine, Black Velvet - Heidi Swapp
  • Puffy Stickers - Recollections
  • Gelatos - Faber Castel

Follow a Sketch February // Day 4

Does it get any better than Magical Paintbrushes?  No, no it does not.

Today I am scrapbooking yet another layout for our Disney Girls Trip of 2016. I think I have about 5 layouts now of these magical brushes. But, they were SO fun!

Today's sketch is from Citrus Twist Kit Club. The sketch came along with the January kit.

I used the kits on the page because why not? Honestly, it does seem a bit random, but I can totally explain it away if need be.

Follow a Sketch February // Day 3 // Last of the Christmas Photos!

WOO HOO YEAH! Last day of the Christmas layouts! Can you believe it? Promised it would be over early in the month and I hope you think I delivered!

Today I just had fun with the sketch I found through a Google search. The sketch is attributed to sketchsupport.com, but that domain is not currently running.

I am a big fan of the border strips and the three areas of embellishment. Since this is Christmas, I knew I was not going to use flowers, but wasn't sure what I had in mind when I started scrapbooking.

Of course, I was excited to use TREES! If you have watched any of my Christmas videos, you know I love a good Christmas tree.

Sadly, or happily -however you roll- this is the last Christmas layout for the Follow a Sketch February Series. (Just look at that tree and that plaid and that gold! SQUEEEE I am a lover of Christmas for sure!)

Supplies used to create this layout:
  • Paper Pad, North Pole Gazette - Recollections / Michaels
  • Flair, Merry & Bright - Fancy Pants
  • Tags, Comfort & Joy - MME
  • Puffy Stickers, Merry & Bright - Fancy Pants
  • Star Puffy Stickers - Made for Retail / Target
  • Twine - Lawn Fawn
  • Paper Pad, Christmas Magic - Shimelle / American Crafts
  • Wood Veneer - Michaels
  • Stickers, Classic Christmas - Simple Stories
  • Ephemera, Merry & Bright - Fancy Pants
  • Color Shine, Gold - Heidi Swapp

Follow a Sketch February // Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Follow a Sketch February!

Today's sketch comes from the book Layout Blueprints. This is an older spiral bound book that I purchased many years ago.

I chose to do a double page layout for this sketch. Now, sometimes my double pages have a LOT of embellishing and fun little bits and sometimes they do not. This is one of those times it does not.

I changed this sketch up a bit by using 12 x 12 papers instead of the 8.5 x 11 that is pictured.

Yes, this is another Christmas layout. Tomorrow will be the last Christmas themed layout. I promise.

Supplies I used to create this layout:

  • Winter Wonderland Paper, Merry & Bright - Fancy Pants
  • Paper Pad, Cranberry Christmas - DCWV
  • Thickers, Happy - American Crafts
  • Art print, Sugar Plum - MME
  • Stickers, Sugar Plum - MME
  • Ephemera, Merry & Bright - Fancy Pants
  • Stickers, Classic Christmas - Simple Stories
  • Brad, Recollections - Michaels

Follow a Sketch February // Day 1

Today's sketch comes from Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine.
I really liked the florals along the bottom edge of that box of paper. I had every intention of actually scrapbooking with flowers, but that did not happen. I had Christmas photos I had to scrap!

Instead, I went with a mixture of stickers, chipboard,  die cuts, and wood veneer to create a festive bottom border.

All of that comes together to form a really fun, yet traditional colored Christmas scrapbook layout. Yes, I know it is February. Yes, I am still scrapping Christmas photos. Be on the lookout for just two more Christmas layouts during this month. And I get them out of the way quickly for you!

This layout was created with:
  • Black Cardstock - Creative Memories
  • Stickers - The Story of Christmas, Echo Park
  • 3x4 Journaling Cards, The Story of Christmas, Echo Park
  • Paper Pad, Christmas Magic - Shimelle / American Crafts
  • Paper Pad, Christmas - Tim Holtz / Idea-ology
  • Thickers, Fitzgerald - American Crafts
  • Stickers & Chipboard Stickers, Very Merry - Simple Stories
  • Stickers, Classic Christmas - Simple Stories
  • Chipboard Buttons, Cozy Christmas - MME
  • Labels, Elle's Studio
  • Glitter Tape, Recollections / Michaels
  • Twine, Recollections / Michaels

Follow a Sketch February Begins Tomorrow!

Hey scrappy friends!

It looks like I kind of abandoned the blog for a little bit. I hope to make up for it by posting every single day in February!

I have turned my Follow a Sketch Friday series on YouTube in Follow a Sketch February.

Join me as I scour the web (and my scraproom) for sketches to use every day of the month.
