Follow a Sketch February // Day 22 // Yeah...They Do!

Yeah, they do! They really do love each other. Sometimes the brother / sister relationship is difficult. I wanted to document their love on my daughter's birthday.

You don't have to go all themey with the birthday papers and embellishments if you don't want to. I didn't want to. I wanted to use my Citrus Twist Kit and that is definitely not birthday themed.

I found this sketch on Pinterest and only know that it was created by Heather Waldron. I found two blogs (but they have not been updated) here and here.

Supplies I used:
  • Hashtag, Good Vibes - Crate Paper *
  • Memorable, Flourish - Crate Paper *
  • Passion, Good Vibes - Crate Paper *
  • Stickers, Flourish - Crate Paper *
  • Leatherette Stickers, Let Your Heart Decide - PinkFresh *
  • Cut Apart Sheet, Exclusive - Citrus Twist *
  • Enamel Dots - Freckled Fawn
  • Twine, Gray and White - Lawn Fawn
  • Thickers, Cirque - American Crafts
  • Thickers, Together - American Crafts *
  • Ephemera, Flourish - Crate Paper *
Items marked with an * were in my February Citrus Twist kit.

Follow a Sketch February // Day 21 // Love

Ah, Love. The stuff of legends. The stuff of myth. THE STUFF.

My husband and I will be married for 20 years this fall. TWENTY YEARS. I don't even feel old enough to be married 20 years and I surely don't feel like we have had that much time together.

This is us in 2007.

I wanted to document this insert from a Valentine's gift he sent me last year. We don't "do" Valentine's Day, but every once in a while, he surprises me with something on that day. In 2017, he sent me a gift with the card that said "I'm still stuck." Now, to some, if not most, people, this means nothing.

But, you see, "I'm stuck" is something we have been saying for TWENTY YEARS people. It still makes me feel all mushy inside. I just wanted this particular piece in my scrapbook.

I am using this sketch from the Sketch N Scrap blog today. It was created by Lisa Hidy.

I used my Citrus Twist Kit from the month of February along with some bits from my stash.

Supplies I Used:
  • Cardstock, Black - Creative Memories
  • Paper Pad, Le Creme - DCWV
  • Passion, Good Vibes - Crate Paper *
  • Christmas themed paper - Unknown
  • Poetic, Flourish - Crate Paper *
  • Ephemera Pack, Flourish - Crate Paper *
  • Stickers, Flourish - Crate Paper *
  • Gemstones - The Paper Studio
  • Stamp, February Kit - Citrus Twist *

Ah, a beautiful closet is a dream....or like a dream. Or something. Anyway. I love me a beautiful closet. And that is a closet tat has clothes in it that fit me.

I started to get a beautiful closet last year when I cleaned out clothes and shoes that had been in there for over 15 years. Craziness, I tell you. Craziness

Today I am using a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches

  • Cardstock, Marshmallow - Bazzil
  • Color Shine, White - Heidi Swapp

Follow A Sketch February // Day 11 // Love Steak

It's no secret that I love steak. I mean, really. Did you think with a name like Steakgoddess I shunned red meat?

Funny thing, is when people ask for my email address and I give it to them, they always ask where did I come up with that name. I tell them I am a vegetarian. Many laugh and get the joke, but some people take me very seriously. Anyway, I love a good steak. Moving on....

Today's sketch comes from Shimelle. I used her sketch from May 23, 2013.

Now, onto the scrappy business at hand.

One of my favorite things to give a little pizazz to floral die cuts is to add an enamel dot in the center. I also inked the edges just ever so slightly with some Peacock Feather Distress Ink.

  • Charcoal Stripes/Stars, Claus & Co. - Simple Stories
  • Paper Pad, Carousel - Crate Paper
  • Cardstock - Bazzil

Follow a Sketch February // Day 10 // Cinnamon Sweet

Who doesn't love a freshly baked pan of hot, ooey gooey cinnamon rolls? Nobody, that's who! Today, I am scrapbooking that delicious pan of cinnamon rolls using a sketch from Jana Eubank, She created the sketch for the Basic Grey blog.

I used my December Kit from The Secret Not Secret Kit Club. I receive my kit at the end of the month, which means I scrap with it throughout the next month. Christmas kind of threw me off, so I am playing catch up with my kits.

Just look at that yummy goodness. I think I need my daughter to make another pan of these bad boys! She adds chocolate chips and that just gives it the next level layer of decadence! Pro tip: Use mini chocolate chips for the best experience!

Supplies used to create this layout:
  • Nob Hill Glimmer Paper, Market Street - MME *
  • Nob Hill Framed Paper, Market Street - MME *
  • Yellow Paper Pad - Unknown *

Follow a Sketch February // Day 8

Eight. Eight. Eight. Day eight is finally here! And day 8 brings PEAS!

Today I am scrapbooking with a two page sketch from Page Maps. Except. I am not scrapbooking a two page layout. I am squishing this down into a one page layout.

I just love this sketch and will probably use it in the future for an actual two page layout. (Not for Follow a Sketch February, though. The goal is to have 28 unique sketches for use throughout the month.)

I am using my December kit from The Secret Not Secret Kit Club. (I get my kits at the end of the month, so I scrap my December kit in January. What? It's February 8th? Don't judge me!)

I used fun little bits from my kit and my stash to create this layout with NO PINK OR TEAL! Can you believe it? I am loving this color scheme, too! The green and orangey bits rock my socks clean off.

Follow a Sketch Friday // Day 7

Oh, Happy Day!

Day 7 is here. Can you believe it? Today I am playing with my Citrus Twist Kit from January 2018. The sketch I used was from an internet search. I have not been able to find the original creator. If you know, please let me know because I would love to give them credit!

Here is the sketch:

Today's story is a fun one. The photo was taken the day the kids moved to California. My husband accidentally threw the house key to the California house away while we were in the Maryland house. Oops!

The day still was very happy as the kids were super excited to finally get to our  new place! They would each get to pick out their own room and start living that West Coast life.

The word sticker says "I would love to, but unfortunately...no" This was totally what they were thinking when they arrived at the house and COULD NOT GET IN. It was an adventure for sure!

The supplies used to create this layout:
  • #5, Wild Child - Crate Paper *
  • Phrase Stickers - Citrus Twist Exclusive *
  • Ephemera Pack, Good Vibes - Crate Paper *
  • Frames, Good Vibes - Crate Paper *
  • Stickers, Carousel - Crate Paper *
  • Thickers, High Five - American Crafts *
  • Cut Apart Sheet - Citrus Twist Exclusive *
  • Stars - Citrus Twist Value Pack
  • Enamel Dots - Freckled Fawn

Items marked with an * were from my January Citrus Twist Kit.

Follow a Sketch February // Day 6

Yay! Day 6! Coincidentally, that is also the title of this layout. Not day 6. Sheesh, people. YAY!

Today, I am using the January 15, 2018 sketch from Stuck?! Sketches

Stuck?!
SO many reasons to say YAY to this layout. The word phrase was perfect for a group of coworkers going out to eat in regular clothes. Yay for using up the last bits of my Citrus Twist Kit from January. Yay for using a bunch of pieces I was less than thrilled with in my layers. Yay for using another pom pom frame. Yay for cutting off a tail of that poor bird and using it as a layer. Just, yay!

The completed layout has a lot of pink, but I am totally okay with that. I think that pop of bright yellow makes it work for me.

Supplies used to create this layout:
  • Life Goals Paper, Good Vibes - Crate Paper *
  • Paper Pad, Carousel - Crate Paper
  • Phrase Stickers - Citrus Twist Exclusive *
  • Ephemera, Good Vibes - Crate Paper *
  • Pom Frames, Good Vibes - Crate Paper *
  • Stickers, Carousel - Crate Paper *
  • Thickers, High Five - American Crafts *
  • Cut Apart Sheet - Citrus Twist Exclusive *
  • Enamel dots - Freckled Fawn
  • Enamel dots, Glitter Girl - Shimelle / American Crafts
  • Color Shine, Butter - Heidi Swapp
Items marked with an * were from my January Citrus Twist Kit.

Follow a Sketch February // Day 5

Can you believe it? Five days into the month already? I am having a fantastic time searching for some awesome sketches to use all this month! I hope you join me! If you do, add the hashtag #FASFEB2018 to your social media so I can check them out!

On to the layout!

I wrapped up my scrapbooking of 2016, so what better thing to work on today than a title page for my 2017 album. Let's be honest here. I am probably going to have to create more than one title page. I rarely have one album for an entire year.

Sketches In Thyme
I am using a sketch from Sketches in Thyme today. It is from November 2017. Now this is one of those times where I take the sketch and kind of go my own way with it.

Just look at that shine! I love playing with things that sparkle! Glitter, how I adore thee!

And the completed page! As you can see, not a whole lot like the sketch. Can you see where I took the inspiration? The circle bits, the layers, and the splatters? Love this photo of my family!

Supplies used to create this layout:
  • Cardstock, Glitter - DCWV
  • Cardstock, Kraft - Michaels
  • Life Goals Paper, Good Vibes - Crate Paper
  • Go Girl Paper, Girl Squad - Pebbles
  • Stickers, Sweet Spring - Bella Blvd.
  • Paper - Gossamer Blue
  • Puffy Stickers, Sweet Nothings - Fancy Pants
  • Glitter Paste, Black - Bo Bunny
  • Color Shine, Black Velvet - Heidi Swapp
  • Puffy Stickers - Recollections
  • Gelatos - Faber Castel
  • Golden Wheat - Shimmerz
  • Stencil, Elliptic - The Crafter's Workshop
